Biography

Margery Kraus, founder and executive chairman of APCO Worldwide, transformed the firm from a one-woman consultancy in 1984 to an award-winning, independent, stakeholder engagement and business strategy firm with more than 30 offices worldwide, 600 employees representing more than 40 nationalities, and more than $120 million in revenue. APCO has more than 100 employees in the Middle East region and is the firm’s fastest growing market.

In 2004, she led a management buy-out of her firm, making APCO one of the world’s largest independent, majority employee-owned communication and public affairs firms in the world. Before founding APCO, Ms. Kraus assisted in the creation and development of the Close Up Foundation, a multi-million-dollar educational foundation sponsored in part by the United States Congress. Her recent honors include the Entrepreneurial Champion award by The C200 Foundation (2015), the PRWeek Hall of Fame (2014) and Corporate Statesmanship Award by the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (2013). APCO is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise.
